September 7, 2013 – Mike Dunham and Karen King from St. Croix sailed up to Alaska then flew to Larsen Bay to catch halibut and ling cod. Their first day fishing was very productive as they caught several halibut and ling cod up to 45 pounds.
They are accustomed to fishing the warm Caribbean waters of St Croix so Kodiak Island fishing is completely new and different. The couple was somewhat spent after their first day of fishing reeling up several halibut and ling cod that were released in addition to those caught. We will see if they can catch their second wind to match today’s catch on Sunday. Fishermen like to catch fish and I bet they rebound and score well again on Sunday.
